Clownfish Class

Nursery

Welcome to Clownfish Nursery Class

We are passionate about providing good quality Early Years provision. We follow the EYFS framework to ensure that your child has the best possible start to their education.

We aim to make your child’s time with us as special and unique as they are. We have developed a welcoming, stimulating, fun learning environment full of exciting opportunities for children to play, learn and explore in.

We take play and learning very seriously and embrace the ‘Characteristics of Effective Learning’. We place them at the forefront of all planning and development for both individuals and the class as a whole.

Our indoor and outdoor areas of the class room offer a variety of continuous provision, maximising learning opportunities across all seven areas of the curriculum.

The children own interest inform planning, topics and themes covered. The Class Teacher and Key Workers work closely with their Key Children developing a supportive, nurturing relationship.

Working alongside parents as partners we all observe, record, monitor  and plan next steps for children using an on line journal called ‘Tapestry.’

All of these opportunities enable confidence building, independence and aid with preparation for your child’s continuing journey as they transition into the reception class.

We begin forging links with the main school as soon as possible, attending special events and some celebrations. We frequently use facilities like the playground, forest school and main hall and increase the frequency of these visits as the academic year progresses.

The reception teachers and nursery teacher work together to create a smooth transition for the children by engaging in story time exchanges and organised play visits. These exciting trips familiarise children with big school routines and environments.
