We are covering a range of GPS (grammar, punctuation and spelling), including:
* Basic sentence structure
* Common exception words
In Maths we are focusing on:
* Number and place value
* Addition and subtraction
* Measurement: Length and height. Weight and volume
* Counting in multiples of 2, 5 and 10
In Science we are observing the changes in Seasons, identifying signs of the seasons and describing the weather associated with each season.
We are also going to study everyday materials.
PE will be on Fridays.
Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school at all times.
Your child's PE kit should be in a clearly named bag and should include:
* Black shorts
* School PE T-shirt in house colours
* Trainers or plimsoles
* A warm track suit for when it is colder outside.
Forest school will also be on Fridays (in all weathers).
Please ensure your child has a change of clothes, footwear and waterproofs appropriate for the outside muddy forest area.
Your child will be expected to bring their reading book every day.
They will be heard reading within school, but it is really important that they read at home too.
It is important that they read as often as possible.
Please encourage your child to read all sorts of texts such as:
* Cereal packets
* Shopping lists
Homework will be set once a week on a Friday and will be due in on the following Thursday.
If you have any questions about you child's learning, please do not hesitate to ask.
