Headteacher's Welcome

On behalf of the staff and governors, welcome to Pilgrims’ Way Primary School where we strive to enable all members of the school and wider community to work together for the good of all.

Pilgrims’ Way Primary School and Nursery joined Veritas Multi Academy Trust on 1 May 2018. Our Trust has two schools, Warden House Primary school in Deal and Pilgrims’ Way. Our CEO, Mr Graham Chisnell, is a National Leader of Education, Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching and an Ofsted Inspector.

At Pilgrims’ Way, we are very proud of our school environment which includes extensive grounds, breakfast and Tea-Time clubs, on-site nursery, football pitch, woodland area and a range of play equipment to keep our children active and engaged. We are extremely proud of our Forest School, which is used all year round, to get more children outdoors and immersed in their learning.

Our aim is to make learning irresistible; we want all children to develop a thirst for learning and push themselves to be the best that they can be. At Pilgrims’ Way, we believe that learning should be a rewarding and enjoyable experience for all. We are developing an exciting, new and irresistible curriculum which promotes independence through purposeful learning experiences; which is supported by our Forest School and the environment. Such resources enable our children to become confident and well-rounded individuals with a deep capacity for learning.  Lessons are engaging and follow a rigorous curriculum with regular intervals of assessment to ensure our children are embedding their learning.

Our goal is to provide irresistible learning opportunities and experiences for every child with our aim of forming strong partnerships between home and school. By developing close relationships with children, families and the wider community it helps support children to develop and grow into well-rounded individuals and foster high aspirations for their futures.

Through high expectations of everyone in the school community, we support children and adults to try their best and take pride in all we do. With this positive ethos embedded throughout the school we hope to support children and adults to engage with and take advantage of the many and varied opportunities we offer here at the school.
