Year R - Rabbit Class
Welcome to Rabbit class.
I am Miss Annecchiarico, Rabbit class teacher. Working alongside my team, we aim to give the children a fantastic, enjoyable early years’ experience in Year R.
Miss Sharp and Miss Wong work with Rabbit class every day and Miss Redman spends time working with Rabbits too.
I spent some time living in Italy, where I played outside much of the time and I look forward to playing outside with your children.
I love reading and aim for the children in my class to love reading too.
Do check Rabbit class DoJo as I regularly post vocabulary, photos and information about the children's learning.
Term 6 Rabbits
We have an exciting term planned for the children’s last term in Year R.
Our starting point this term is Animals. We begin with a trip to Wildwood Animal Park where we learn about why some animals are endangered. The vocabulary we are learning will be sent home to share with you so that children can talk about the words with you.
PE and Forest School
Forest school continues to take place on Monday morning. We will be learning how to cook different items on a fire and drawing the plants we see around us. Children need to wear a long sleeved top please.
PE takes place on Tuesday mornings. We are learning to throw and catch a ball and why exercise is good for us.
Reading
Here are some of the books we are reading this term with the children. We are hoping to take lots of the learning around the books outside, to make reading even more exciting for the children.
The Ugly Five
Meerkat Mail
Farm Yard Hullabaloo
Animals of the World
Your child will take home a reading for pleasure book each week. We will send home a phonic book, which your child should be able to read to you.
Maths
In maths, we learn how to talk about and make number bonds to 10. Children will learn how to rotate shapes and how to talk about patterns made with shapes.
Art
In art, we will learn how to use a fine brush to replicate animal patterns on a background.
Music
In music, we continue to learn to play different percussion instruments, including drums, shakers and glockenspiels. If you have any questions about your child’s learning please come to talk to me or check our class DoJo.
