Welcome to Penguin Class. 

Our class teachers are Mrs Read and Mrs Usher.

Our teaching assistants are Mrs Anderson, Miss Walsh, Miss Curtis and Miss Pursey.

 

Our Term 6 geography enquiry is 'Why do we like being beside the sea so much?'. Within this enquiry we will be learning about the concept of 'coasts' and the human and physical features that can be found there. This will build on our learning from Year 1 where we learnt about the human and physical features in our local area.  We will also be looking at the types of activities that tourists enjoy at the seaside and also how tourism can have a negative impact on our seas and beaches. 

Forest School

During Term 6 we will go to Forest School for a three week block every Wednesday afternoon.  The dates for these sessions are:

Wednesday 5th June

Wednesday 12th June

Wednesday 19th June

Your child will need to bring in their Forest School kit for these sessions. Please provide them with old clothes (they will get muddy!) and some Wellington boots. If the weather is wet, please make sure your child has a raincoat.

P.E

Our P.E. day for Term 6 is Thursday. Please make sure your child has their kit in school at all times. They can leave it safely in their lockers during term time. Their kit should be in a named bag and should include shorts, a t-shirt and plimsolls/trainers. You might also want to include some jogging bottoms for days when the weather is cooler.

 

Home Learning and Reading

Home learning is sent home every week on Fridays and should be returned by the following Thursday.  You will find six activities in the homework book.  Your child can select one of these to complete each week.  Children are also encouraged to read every day at home and receive Dojo points when they do this.
