Welcome to Term 3!

In English, we are continuing with our writing journey  with The Curious Quests. Our rich vocabulary to accompany the quests will be sent out each week on Class Dojo. Alongside this, we’ll carry on with our phonics learning. In Term 3, we will be continuing with Level 5 sounds so that we start to be confident in using them for both reading and spelling new words. We will also be revising all Level 2 and 3 sounds and Level 4 words.

In Maths, we will continue to explore place value and addition and subtraction. We will be looking at numbers within 20.

Science learning will explore animals. The children will learn about human and animal bodies and our five senses; sight, smell, taste, touch and hearing. 

Our Historial Enquiry in Term 3 is 'How have explorers changed the world?' The children will learn what is meant by the term 'explorer' and will be introduced to some of the most influential explorers from the past and present. 

Our PE day is Thursday and your child should wear their PE kit to school on that day.

Home learning will be reading (information about this will be shared with you in a separate letter), Twinkl phonics and the Twinkl maths app. Your child should have their reading book in school every day and should practice reading at home on a daily basis. Reading books will be changed every Friday.
